Epsilon seeks a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead a team of 8-12 engineers and contractors building core capabilities for the Epsilon Clean Room data collaboration platform. Responsibilities include team leadership, delivery planning, technical direction, and collaboration with product and architecture teams. The role involves designing and delivering full-stack and data-intensive systems using Databricks, Spark, and cloud-native services, with focus on AI-assisted workflows and automation. Requirements include 10+ years engineering experience, 3+ years management, expertise in big data technologies, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), AI-assisted developer tools, and strong leadership skills. What you'll do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8-12 engineers and contractors
- Manage team capacity, delivery planning, and execution across a strategic product area
- Partner with product management, architecture, and multi-functional partners to define technical direction and align roadmaps
- Guide design and delivery of full-stack and data-intensive systems using Databricks, Spark, and cloud-native services
- Hire and onboard engineering talent and build an inclusive and accountable team culture
- Operate as a player-coach by reviewing architecture and code, removing technical blockers, and contributing directly
- Raise engineering quality, operational excellence, and delivery discipline through strong design practices and observability
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years in an engineering management role
- Experience leading software engineering teams in a product environment
- Direct people management responsibilities including coaching, performance management, and team development
- Experience building modern software platforms spanning application development, distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and AI-enabled or agentic product capabilities
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering workflows and coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar
- Hands-on experience with big data and data engineering technologies including Databricks and Spark
- Experience building and operating cloud-based platforms with scalable architecture, reliability, and performance
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead through ambiguity
- Player-coach approach with ability to review architecture and code and remove technical blockers
