Digital Turbine seeks a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead and mentor a full stack engineering team in Warsaw. The role involves managing the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with product teams, and delivering enterprise-scale software solutions. Candidates must have 5+ years of software development and people management experience, expertise in microservices, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, NoSQL), Kafka, and agile methodologies. Responsibilities include leading teams, influencing product roadmaps, implementing best practices, and hands-on coding when needed. What you'll do

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers including employees and contingent workers
  • Create impact on design and development of Digital Turbine products
  • Work closely with product team to influence product roadmap and delivery of customer features
  • Manage new development throughout the software development lifecycle from scope negotiation to deployment and production support
  • Lead by example and be a pillar of excellence for the team and company
  • Implement industry best practices to maximize software development performance, efficiency, and quality
  • Provide professional support to the tech team
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure smooth delivery of the roadmap
  • Perform hands-on work including code creation, code review, and documentation when needed

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software development experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience (1x1s, performance reviews, hiring, employee engagement)
  • 5+ years working in an agile team environment using frameworks like Scrum
  • Expertise in building and supporting enterprise scale software
  • Ability to lead teams through backlog development and creative problem solving
  • Effective communication of software solutions to leads and implementation of well-designed solutions
  • Experience designing and building microservice architectures
  • Experience leveraging Kubernetes container services for deployment
  • Excellent knowledge of modern cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Experience with diverse languages and tools including Postgres, DynamoDB, RDBMS, and NoSQL data stores
  • Expert understanding of software development best practices and methodologies
  • Experience with quality testing methodologies including automation and regression testing
  • Experience working with Kafka
