Senior Manager – European / EMEA Billing

What you'll do

• Oversee end-to-end billing processes for multiple European / EMEA countries ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual terms and local tax
• Manage the monthly invoicing cycle, credit notes, adjustments
• Review and approve complex billing cases, pricing changes, and non-standard billing
• Partner with FPCA and accounting teams for month-end close, accruals
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of billing analysts and specialists
• Set performance goals, monitor productivity, and implement process improvements
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance billing accuracy, efficiency, and system automation
• Collaborate with IT and system administrators to maintain and improve billing systems (e.g. SuiteBilling, ZoneBilling)
• Implement controls and audits to minimize billing errors
• Work closely with European / EMEA regional finance leads, sales operations, and legal teams to ensure contract compliance and customer satisfaction
• Support customer queries, audits, and escalations related to billing
• Provide management reports and insights into billing performance and KPIs
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, SOX controls, and internal audit requirements
• Liaise with internal and external auditors during audits
• Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• MBA, CA (Inter/Final), or CPA qualification
• 5+ years of progressive experience in billing, with at least 2+ years in a managerial role
• Experience managing European / EMEA billing operations and familiarity with regional tax/VAT
• Hands-on experience with enterprise billing/ERP systems (e.g. SuiteBilling, ZoneBilling)
• Proficiency in some European and EMEA languages – German, French, Dutch, Spanish etc
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global teams
• Attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with reporting/BI tools
