Full job description

StackAdapt is seeking a senior full-time remote engineer based in Canada to develop a new MarTech platform. The role involves designing and debugging distributed systems, leading code reviews and architectural planning, developing React frontends, and implementing scalable APIs with Ruby on Rails and GraphQL. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience building performant web applications, collaborating with product and design teams, strong knowledge of AWS or equivalent cloud platforms, experience with AI-assisted development tools, and expertise in relational databases and key-value stores. Responsibilities include writing test-driven code, resolving performance bottlenecks, and mentoring teammates. What you'll do

  • Design, improve, and debug complex distributed systems managing cross-team backend dependencies
  • Lead code reviews, technical specifications, and architectural planning
  • Develop and maintain highly-interactive React frontend for Orchestration Flows product
  • Implement scalable systems and APIs using Ruby on Rails and GraphQL
  • Write extensible, test-driven code and take full responsibility from design to production deployment
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks impacting user adoption and product performance
  • Mentor teammates and cultivate a collaborative team atmosphere

Requirements

  • 5+ years of building highly-performant web applications
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product & Design to implement and iterate on high impact end-to-end product experiences
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS or other equivalent cloud platforms like GCP or Azure
  • Ability to maximize the use of AI-assisted tools to accelerate development cycles and integrate AI features
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining relational databases and key-value stores at scale
  • Ability to navigate backend dependencies and negotiate technical contracts
  • Experience implementing testing and quality strategies that maintain system stability without compromising shipping speed
