Full job description

Senior Frontend Engineer - Mobile Apps role to build and maintain iOS and Android customer-facing applications. Responsibilities include designing and developing frontend features, implementing multilingual user interfaces, collaborating with UX/UI designers, ensuring code quality with testing and reviews, optimizing performance with Swiss banking security standards, contributing to shared component libraries, working in agile teams, coordinating with backend teams on RESTful and GraphQL APIs, monitoring and resolving production issues, and staying current with frontend technologies. Required skills: 3+ years in frontend or mobile development, proficiency in React Native, TypeScript, modern JavaScript, experience with React.js or similar frameworks, understanding of iOS and Android guidelines, experience with i18n/l10n libraries, state management solutions, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, CI/CD, Git, and web accessibility standards. Language requirements: fluent German (B2+), business proficient English.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain frontend features for iOS and Android mobile applications
  • Implement and extend multilingual user interfaces using internationalisation (i18n) frameworks and localisation best practices
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, accessible components
  • Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews
  • Optimise application performance across devices and screen sizes with a focus on Swiss banking security standards
  • Contribute to the shared component library and design system used across all Raiffeisen digital products
  • Work in an agile team using Scrum/Kanban, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos
  • Coordinate with backend teams to design and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs
  • Monitor, debug, and resolve issues in production, ensuring high availability and user satisfaction
  • Stay up to date with emerging frontend technologies and champion best practices within the team

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in frontend or mobile development
  • Proficiency in React Native for cross-platform iOS and Android development
  • Strong command of TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Experience with React.js or a comparable modern web framework (Vue, Angular)
  • Solid understanding of iOS and Android platform guidelines (HIG / Material Design)
  • Practical experience with i18n/l10n libraries (e.g. i18next, react-intl, FormatJS)
  • Familiarity with state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, MobX, or similar)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
  • Fluent German (B2 or above)
  • Business proficient English
