Senior Front-End Engineer role at The Trade Desk in Ventura, CA with hybrid remote work permitted within commuting distance. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, designing and developing front-end and back-end software using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C#, .NET, GraphQL, and SQL. Maintain and improve software features, participate in full software development lifecycle, troubleshoot distributed systems, build CI/CD pipelines, and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 4+ years front-end development experience, 3+ years with C#, .NET, SQL Server, observability tools, Agile methodologies, and 2+ years with GraphQL, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud/container technologies. Salary range $174,782 - $249,700/year. What you'll do
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, designers, researchers, and engineering peers to gather requirements and define feature scope
- Identify risks, prepare software designs and estimates, and determine success criteria including KPIs
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing software features by investigating issues and optimizing performance
- Prepare technical design documents and participate in design reviews
- Develop and maintain front-end and back-end components using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C#, .NET, GraphQL, and SQL
- Understand system architecture fundamentals and business objectives
- Validate software quality with automated and manual testing, review test strategies, and ensure documentation standards
- Participate in full software development lifecycle including planning, implementation, testing, deployment, validation, and support
- Diagnose and debug large-scale distributed systems using observability tools and implement dashboards and alerts
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using DevOps tools
- Deploy applications using cloud and containerization technologies
- Enhance and maintain web-based UI functionality including bug fixes and improvements across database, API, and UI layers
- Build and maintain software systems for demand-side advertising platforms and supply-side platform integrations
- Conduct interviews and assess candidates for junior and senior software engineering roles
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 4 years experience developing front-end applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and React
- Experience with software development tools and version control systems including Git
- 3 years experience developing and maintaining complex user interface systems
- 3 years experience with C# and .NET framework
- 3 years experience working with SQL Server including schema migrations and stored procedures
- 3 years experience troubleshooting distributed software systems using observability tools
- 3 years experience working within Agile or Scrum methodologies using project tracking tools like JIRA
- 2 years experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs and services
- 2 years experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools like GitLab or GitHub Actions
- 2 years experience deploying software applications using cloud platforms or containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
