Full job description

AppsFlyer is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to manage cloud and AI cost transparency, accountability, and optimization. The role involves analyzing cloud cost data, partnering with Engineering, Cloud Ops, and Product teams to drive cost efficiency, presenting findings to stakeholders, and maintaining FinOps tools. Requires 5+ years in FinOps or cloud cost analysis, experience with AWS/GCP cost data, proficiency in SQL and Excel, understanding of cloud pricing models, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include cost reporting, anomaly investigation, savings identification, financial planning support, and monitoring AI infrastructure costs.

What you'll do

  • Own the cloud cost reporting cadence: track spend trends and KPIs, highlight key drivers behind significant changes, translate findings into leadership-ready reporting
  • Partner with Engineering, Cloud Ops, and Product teams to turn cost insights into action and hold teams accountable to budget and efficiency goals
  • Present clear, accurate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders including leadership
  • Translate requirements into cost KPIs and financial planning inputs; drive continuous improvement in cost visibility and governance
  • Investigate cost anomalies flagged by monitoring tools, partner with engineering teams to identify root cause and validate findings
  • Build and maintain cost dashboards highlighting KPIs and key drivers behind significant cost changes
  • Track and improve unit economics, connecting cloud and AI/ML spend to business and usage metrics
  • Monitor and analyze AI/GenAI infrastructure costs as a distinct and growing category of spend, applying FinOps principles
  • Identify and drive savings opportunities: rightsizing, waste elimination, Reserved Instance/Savings Plan coverage, and commitment strategy
  • Support financial planning: forecasting, budget vs. actuals, and variance analysis for cloud infrastructure spend
  • Maintain and improve FinOps tooling (e.g., Finout or equivalent), including data validation and quality checks

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in FinOps analysis or cloud cost analysis
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP cost and usage data (Cost Explorer, billing exports, or third-party FinOps platforms such as Finout)
  • Strong data analysis skills; proficiency in SQL and Excel
  • Good understanding of cloud pricing models (on-demand, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, committed use discounts)
  • Experience with cost allocation, tagging strategy, and chargeback/showback models
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical cost data into business-relevant insights for engineers and executives
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and independently in a fast-paced environment
