Full job description

Senior Software Engineer role focused on developing large-scale distributed systems for ad request prioritization with low latency and high throughput. Requires 4+ years software development experience, preferably with Scala and Spark, and familiarity with Kubernetes and CNCF projects. Responsibilities include solving complex mathematical problems, optimizing traffic consumption, and cost optimization. Hybrid work schedule with 2 days remote and 3 days on-site in Boston, MA. What you'll do

  • Develop large-scale distributed systems and solve deep technical and mathematical challenges
  • Perform large-scale data analysis
  • Solve problems involving complex mathematical algorithms to optimize traffic consumption
  • Develop high-performance, low-latency software routing high volumes of ad request traffic targeting p99 latencies ≤ 20ms while maximizing throughput
  • Cost optimization by lowering infrastructure cost basis to optimize traffic

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with a sense of urgency
  • Desire for ownership of the entire software development lifecycle
  • Willingness to join On-Call rotation
  • Critical and creative thinking skills
  • Openness to functional programming paradigm
  • Experience designing and implementing high-quality applications, preferably with Scala and Spark
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and CNCF projects like Prometheus, Argo, Helm (preferred)
