Full job description

RTB House seeks Senior Engineers for its Bidding Platform organization, processing over 20 million requests per second globally. Responsibilities include designing and leading system changes for high performance and scalability, developing tools to improve user performance metrics, implementing and maintaining HTTP/gRPC services and batch jobs in Java and Python, and providing technical leadership including project planning and code reviews. Requirements include deep understanding of IT systems, internet protocols, concurrent programming, production system monitoring, performance analysis, knowledge of high scalability and availability, and C1 level English and Polish. Nice to have experience in AdTech/Real Time Bidding and Real User Monitoring systems. Technologies used include Java, Python, Aerospike, Memcached, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, MinIO, Kafka, Clickhouse, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Jenkins, and Graphite. The role offers B2B contract cooperation, remote work or office presence in Warsaw or Cracow, and collaboration in interdisciplinary teams focused on high code quality and performance.

What you'll do

  • Design and lead implementation of system changes for high performance, scalability, and observability in ad display and tracking
  • Develop tools and optimizations to improve critical user performance metrics
  • Implement, test, deploy, monitor and maintain HTTP/gRPC services and batch jobs in Java and Python
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership including solving complex system challenges, project planning and scoping, and ensuring high coding standards through code reviews

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of complex IT systems from hardware to software and algorithms
  • Very good knowledge of fundamental Internet protocols and technologies (DNS, HTTP, cookies, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of concurrent programming and distributed systems
  • Practical ability to observe, monitor and analyze production systems
  • Ability to critically analyze solutions for performance issues
  • General knowledge of high scalability and high availability issues
  • C1 level in English and Polish
