Full job description

RTB House is seeking a lead engineer for its Platform Engineering team focused on deployment, monitoring, databases, and load balancing within its bidding platform infrastructure. The role involves planning and leading development, coordinating a project team of 3-4 people, and ensuring solution reliability and scalability. Candidates must have deep understanding of complex IT systems, experience leading project teams, strong programming skills, knowledge of concurrent and distributed systems, and proficiency in English and Polish (C1). Technologies used include Java, Python, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Aerospike, Memcached, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, MinIO, Kafka, Clickhouse, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Jenkins, and Graphite. The position offers B2B contract cooperation with options for 100% remote work or office presence in Warsaw or Cracow.

What you'll do

  • Plan and hands-on lead development within a technical area like deployment, monitoring, databases or load balancing within RTB House infrastructure
  • Coordinate the work of a project team of 3-4 people and make arrangements with other teams and units
  • Ensure reliability and scalability of the solutions built

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of how complex IT systems work - from the hardware level, through software, to algorithms
  • Ability to proactively define requirements, ask appropriate questions and draw conclusions that combine technical constraints and business needs
  • Ability to lead the design and implementation of a solution
  • Experience in leading project teams
  • Willingness to be involved in topics beyond programming and design, such as responsibility for technical areas or communication with other teams
  • Proactive attitude, independence in taking action
  • Extensive experience in programming and readiness to implement key system elements as well as involvement in code reviews
  • Good knowledge of methods of creating concurrent programs and distributed systems
  • Ability to critically analyze created solutions in terms of performance (estimating theoretical performance and detecting/removing performance problems in production)
  • C1 level in English and Polish
