Full job description

Senior DevOps Engineer role in the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team responsible for infrastructure development and maintenance. The infrastructure includes both cloud and bare metal solutions, processing petabytes of data monthly across thousands of servers. The team uses hybrid cloud environments, infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform, AWS CDK), and Kubernetes on 2000+ servers. Required skills include production experience with distributed/scalable systems or high traffic web applications, Kubernetes, AWS, Ansible, Linux, troubleshooting OS and distributed system issues, web and HTTP fundamentals, IP networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalling, and security best practices. The role requires working three days a week onsite in Helsinki. Bonus skills include programming (Python, Ruby, NodeJS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), SQL and NoSQL databases, automated build pipelines, and large-scale data processing pipelines. What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure within the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team
  • Automate infrastructure as much as possible
  • Manage infrastructure that processes petabytes of data monthly through thousands of servers
  • Work towards a hybrid cloud environment combining private and public cloud
  • Utilize SRE and DevOps principles in daily work

Requirements

  • Production experience with distributed/scalable systems and/or high traffic web applications
  • Experience in running large scale production with Kubernetes
  • Experience working with public cloud environments, preferably AWS
  • Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible
  • Extensive knowledge of the Linux operating system
  • Troubleshooting skills from diagnosing low-level OS issues to large-scale failures within distributed systems
  • Knowledge of how the web works and HTTP fundamentals
  • Knowledge of IP networking, DNS, load balancing and firewalling
  • Knowledge in good security practices, including network security, system hardening, secure software
  • Ability and willingness to work three days a week in Helsinki office
