Full job description

Integral Ad Science seeks a Senior Engineer for the DevOps Platform team. Responsibilities include working with and debugging CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, GitOps, Kubernetes, Flux CD, Databricks, and designing future stacks like Argo CD. The role requires developing source code to resolve system issues, improving tooling and processes, and collaborating with Product and Platform teams. Requirements include 5+ years in software engineering or DevOps, strong coding skills in Java/Groovy or Python, expertise in CI/CD, Jenkins, Kubernetes, AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code tools, and Linux administration. The position is remote-first with a primary location in Chicago, IL. Salary range is $89,600 to $153,600 annually. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance, 401k with matching, and bonuses.

What you'll do

  • Work with and debug current stack: GitHub, Jenkins, GitOps, Kubernetes, Flux CD, Databricks
  • Help design future stack (e.g. Argo CD) with self-service
  • Drive directly to resolution by cutting deep into systems and developing source code
  • Constantly expand skills by learning new complex systems
  • Use expert knowledge of SDLC to improve tooling and processes
  • Collaborate closely with developers on Product and Platform teams across Engineering and Data Science

Requirements

  • Bias toward action, able to architect and implement solutions from initial commit to 1.0 release
  • BS in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong coding background with Java (or Groovy) or Python (2+ years)
  • Expert knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles, best practices, Git, and dev tools across multiple languages
  • Experience developing and maintaining Jenkins shared libraries and Jenkinsfiles
  • Expertise in containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, distroless)
  • Hands-on experience with k8s tools: Flux CD, Argo CD, Istio, Karpenter, Grafana stack, Flagger, External Secrets Operator, Helm, Kustomize, Kyverno
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (CloudFormation, CDK) and cloud-native deployments, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and orchestration tools (Atlantis, Terraform, Terragrunt)
  • 5+ years of overall experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering
  • Strong experience in Linux administration and configuration (2+ years)
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as part of a remote-first team
