Full job description

Seeking a Senior Oracle DBA with strong development background for production support and full-lifecycle implementation. Responsibilities include full life cycle support of client databases using RAC and non-RAC for OLTP and warehouse, Active DataGuard for DR, Oracle Exadata patching, database backups, design, development, testing, performance tuning, and automation. Candidate will collaborate with developers and manage database changes across environments. Requires 6+ years experience with database implementation and administration, strong skills in Oracle database architecture, backup and recovery (RMAN, EXPDP, IMPDP), DataGuard, performance tuning tools (AWR, ASH, ADDM, TKPROF), shell scripting, and cloud database management (AWS). Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Oracle and cloud certifications preferred. Must participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and after-hours support.

What you'll do

  • Full life cycle support of client databases
  • Manage RAC and non-RAC databases for OLTP and warehouse environments
  • Manage Active DataGuard for disaster recovery
  • Perform Oracle Exadata patching and maintenance
  • Responsible for database backups, design, development, testing, and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with developers to design and build new database structures
  • Promote database changes through Dev, UAT, and Prod environments
  • Apply quarterly patch applications (PSU) and periodic database upgrades with minimal downtime
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and provide after-hours support
  • Automate repeated tasks proactively

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in implementation and administration of database systems
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience administering and tuning high-transaction Standalone/RAC production server environments on premises and cloud
  • Strong design, development, and administration skills
  • Strong knowledge of Automatic Storage Management
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex database performance issues
  • Experience with database upgrade/migrations
  • Experience with backup and recovery tools (RMAN, EXPDP, IMPDP)
  • Knowledge of Oracle DataGuard Physical Standby configuration and support including DataGuard Broker and replication
  • Knowledge of database programming and query troubleshooting
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager
  • Experience managing databases in AWS cloud environment
  • Experience writing Shell scripts
  • Good written and oral communication and soft skills
  • Oracle certification is a plus
  • Cloud certification preferred
