Full job description

Senior Data Science Partner role based in Tokyo, Japan. Full-time permanent position with a hybrid work model. Responsibilities include analyzing client needs, leading innovation projects, executing and validating tests, consulting on optimization strategies, scaling solutions, and collaborating across regions. Requires strong technical skills in SQL, Python, statistical modeling, AB testing, and familiarity with Adtech technologies. Must have 5+ years experience in analytics, consulting, or digital advertising, with strong communication skills in English (Japanese a plus). Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field required. What you'll do

  • Analyze and identify opportunities by understanding client needs and market dynamics
  • Lead innovation projects collaborating with local, regional, and global teams
  • Execute and validate tests and proof-of-concept initiatives
  • Consult and recommend optimization strategies and tool implementations
  • Scale proven solutions to other clients and markets
  • Collaborate across regions with travel opportunities

Requirements

  • Solid grasp of SQL and Python to manage complex data scenarios and create meaningful features
  • Hands-on experience with data science techniques such as statistical modeling, deep-dive analysis, and AB testing
  • Familiarity with statistical methods to validate hypotheses and assess business impacts
  • Ability to identify patterns and understand data relationships, turning them into actionable insights
  • Ability to translate complex analytics into clear, strategic recommendations
  • Experience integrating diverse data sources into foundational models
  • Strong skills in creating clear and compelling visualizations
  • Deep understanding of client challenges and designing tailored optimization strategies
  • Ability to communicate data-driven insights clearly and align with client objectives
  • Business-oriented mindset to anticipate challenges and adapt strategies
  • Proficiency in English; proficiency in Japanese is a plus
  • Confidence in presenting insights and leading cross-functional discussions
  • Ability to lead initiatives and facilitate cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience managing projects with defined objectives, timelines, and deliverables
  • Taking ownership of challenges and identifying innovation opportunities
  • Ability to adapt solutions to client contexts and market dynamics
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, data analytics, or related quantitative field (Master’s preferred)
  • Previous experience working directly with clients or in consulting roles focused on data-driven insights
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in analytics, consulting, or digital advertising
  • Familiarity with Adtech technologies and analytics modeling
