Full job description

VideoAmp, Inc. is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for linear data in Los Angeles, CA. Responsibilities include analyzing and modeling complex linear viewership data using SQL, developing data infrastructure software primarily in Python, building ETL/ELT streaming and batch pipelines on platforms like Snowflake, Spark, and Databricks, and orchestrating pipelines with Airflow. The role requires collaboration on engineering designs, implementation, testing, and maintenance of big data infrastructure. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 5 years of experience in data engineering, production-grade software development, SQL, and data pipeline orchestration, plus 3 years with modern engineering tools. Telecommuting is permitted. The position is full-time with a salary range of $184,558 to $208,000 per year. Applicants must have permanent work authorization in the U.S.

What you'll do

  • Analyze and model complex linear viewership data using SQL
  • Develop data infrastructure processing and serving software primarily in Python
  • Build ETL/ELT streaming and batch pipelines on big data platforms including Snowflake, Spark, and Databricks
  • Orchestrate data engineering pipelines with Airflow
  • Use modern software development environments and tooling such as Git, Jira, CircleCI, Bazel
  • Collaborate with team and larger engineering organization to distill engineering designs from product requirements and data science
  • Develop work plans, implement, test, productize, monitor, and maintain big data infrastructure

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • 5 years of experience with Data Engineering
  • 5 years of experience developing Production-Grade Software
  • 5 years of experience with SQL
  • 5 years of experience with Data Pipeline Orchestration
  • 3 years of experience with Modern Engineering Stack/Tools
  • Authority to work permanently in the U.S.
