Full job description

Senior Data Engineer position requiring 5+ years experience developing and extending large complex systems. Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field. Technical skills needed include Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Scala, and object oriented programming languages such as C#, Python, C++, or Java. Responsibilities include creating maintainable code to process and analyze large data volumes, utilizing a large private Hadoop cluster, designing data models, improving dataset quality including fraud detection, and working in a small team with mentorship. The role is full-time, permanent, and offers a hybrid work model based in Paris, France or Bucharest, Romania. What you'll do

  • Create high quality, maintainable code processing and analyzing almost 400 million events daily
  • Utilize one of the largest private Hadoop clusters and advanced data processing technologies
  • Design and perfect data models to isolate signal from noise in real world data
  • Improve quality of valuable datasets including fraud and low-relevance data detection
  • Work in a team of 5-7 with close mentorship to drive projects and ensure best practices
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops
  • Build and ship quality code into production affecting millions of users

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience with developing and extending large and complex systems
  • Master in Computer science or engineering school or any relevant field
  • Familiar with Spark, Hadoop, Hive or Scala
  • Relevant experience in Object Oriented Programming (C#, Python, C++, Java)
  • Curious about innovative technologies
  • Can do attitude and ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Passionate about shipping high quality code
  • Good level of English (at least B2 intermediate)
