Seeking Senior Corporate Counsel to advise on commercial transactions and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating contracts (SaaS, partnership, licensing, data, distribution, consulting, confidentiality), supporting data privacy and product compliance, managing legal operations, and assisting with corporate governance. Requires JD, 5-8 years legal experience in law firm and in-house, membership in California or New York bar, expertise in legal operations, commercial transactions, privacy, and data licensing. Requirements
JD from an accredited law school
5-8 years of experience working both at a law firm and in-house, preferably in technology and/or digital media companies
Current member in good standing of the California or New York bar
Experience in legal operations/automation, commercial transactions, privacy, data licensing, and product
Experience in commercial sales transactions and revenue deals, preferably with a large company or firm
Experience negotiating and drafting commercial transactions with large media companies (agencies, programmers, and/or distributors) and television publishers
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in interactions with customers, partners, and all levels of employees
Confident understanding of contracts
Knowledgeable about data privacy law and experience reviewing DPAs and data license agreements
Experience implementing data privacy programs and processes in-house and project managing privacy matters
Be the state privacy knowledgeable attorney for the commercial team for general privacy related questions
Ability to work well with others, curious, super-smart, passionate about what you do and teamwork oriented
Developed business acumen, with ability to understand the company’s business and anticipate issues
