Full job description
Zeta Global is hiring a Senior Compute Platform Engineer for their Data Platform team based in Copenhagen, Denmark (hybrid). The role involves building and running data infrastructure including a lakehouse platform, operating and enhancing a Scala data warehouse framework, and managing Spark job execution environments on Hadoop clusters using EC2 spot instances. Responsibilities include implementing new features, improving data scientist productivity, computational optimizations, contributing to open-source projects (Spark, Iceberg, Hadoop, Airflow), acting as a Spark and Scala expert, and mentoring engineers. Requirements include 3+ years software engineering experience, a relevant degree, 1+ years Scala or JVM language proficiency, experience with Spark or similar frameworks, Kubernetes knowledge is a plus, basic AWS knowledge, and strong analytical, communication, and independent working skills.
