Full job description

Vibe.co is hiring a senior backend engineer to join the Integrations team in New York. The role involves building and shipping integrations with external platforms (CRMs, CDPs, measurement vendors), owning projects end-to-end, driving the architecture of Vibe's public API, and contributing to reliability and scale of data pipelines. The engineer will mentor junior staff and help establish engineering practices. Requirements include 6+ years of backend production experience, strong proficiency in TypeScript and Python, infrastructure knowledge with AWS and Terraform, and exposure to low-level programming (C/C++ a plus). Experience with third-party integrations, GCP, and developer platforms is preferred. The position is full-time with hybrid work (3 days/week in NYC office). Salary range is $196,000–$265,000. Benefits include variable pay, full health coverage, 401(k) matching, unlimited PTO, parental leave, and annual offsite.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement production-grade integrations with external platforms: CRMs, CDPs, measurement vendors, and data partners
  • Own integration projects end-to-end, from scoping through production, with full accountability for outcomes
  • Collaborate with external partners to define, validate, and evolve data contracts
  • Drive the architecture of Vibe's public API including account, advertiser, and campaign management endpoints
  • Develop documentation, monitoring, and tooling to enhance developer experience
  • Contribute to MCP gateway and authentication layers exposing Vibe's capabilities
  • Identify architectural weaknesses in existing pipelines and lead rebuilding efforts for scale
  • Set the standard for code quality through impactful code reviews
  • Use AI tooling actively to accelerate development and improve output quality
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code review, pairing, and feedback
  • Help establish engineering norms and practices as the New York team grows
  • Partner with the Engineering Manager on technical direction and hiring calibration

Requirements

  • 6+ years shipping production backend systems: APIs, data pipelines, and distributed services at scale
  • Deep hands-on proficiency in TypeScript and Python; ownership of complex systems in both
  • Strong infrastructure fundamentals: AWS, Terraform, and architectural decision-making
  • Exposure to low-level programming concepts; C or C++ background is a plus
  • High-ownership background in startups, scale-ups, or similar environments
  • Track record of raising the quality of engineers around you
  • Prior experience building or maintaining third-party integrations (ETL, webhooks, REST/GraphQL APIs) - nice to have
  • Familiarity with GCP or multi-cloud environments - nice to have
  • Experience designing or contributing to developer-facing platforms or public APIs - nice to have
