The Trade Desk is hiring a senior applied scientist for their AI Lab in London. The role involves designing and developing agentic AI applications and systems, including The Trade Desk's AI Assistant. Responsibilities include driving the evaluation platform, prompt and harness optimization, building guardrail and safety frameworks, setting evaluation standards, mentoring scientists and engineers, and contributing to the applied science roadmap. Candidates should have 5+ years (or 3+ with PhD) experience in applied ML, hands-on Python and PyTorch skills, experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, SQL, MLflow, production model serving (vLLM, Ray Serve), agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, DSPy, MCP), AI safety systems (Llama Guard, NeMo Guardrails), and orchestration tools (Ray, Airflow, Dagster). Strong communication skills and a commitment to diversity are required. The position is full-time and based in London.
