Full job description

Senior AI Engineer role focused on leading prompt engineering initiatives and providing technical support to business users. Responsibilities include developing best practices for prompt engineering, coaching users, creating resources, troubleshooting prompts, supporting AI tool implementation, conducting training, integrating AI into workflows, documenting learnings, staying updated on AI technologies, evaluating new AI solutions, mentoring junior staff, and leading knowledge-sharing initiatives. Requires 5+ years experience in AI, machine learning, or LLM technologies, advanced prompt engineering expertise, strong communication skills, and hands-on experience with AI platforms. Preferred qualifications include advanced degree and certifications in AI/ML, experience with AI model fine-tuning, and knowledge of AI governance. Hybrid work model based in Lisbon, Portugal. What you'll do

  • Develop, refine, and establish best practices for effective prompt engineering
  • Support and coach business users in crafting prompts to maximize AI solution utilization
  • Create comprehensive guides, templates, and resources for prompt engineering
  • Troubleshoot and optimize prompts for better outcomes
  • Provide hands-on technical support to business users implementing AI solutions
  • Conduct training sessions on AI tools and prompt best practices
  • Help integrate AI tools into business workflows and processes
  • Document and share technical learnings and case studies across the organization
  • Stay current with AI platforms, tools, and emerging capabilities
  • Evaluate new AI solutions for organizational use
  • Mentor junior technical staff on AI implementation
  • Lead technical communities of practice and knowledge-sharing initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with AI, machine learning, and/or LLM technologies
  • Advanced expertise in prompt engineering and AI tool utilization
  • Deep technical knowledge of AI capabilities, limitations, and best practices
  • Strong ability to break down complex AI concepts into practical guidance
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with non-technical business users
  • Experience in technical training and mentoring
  • Hands-on experience with multiple AI platforms and tools
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field
  • Preferred: Certification in AI/ML or related technical areas
  • Preferred: Experience with AI model fine-tuning and customization
  • Preferred: Knowledge of AI governance and responsible AI practices
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available; must have local documentation (NIF, NISS) for Portugal
