The Sr. Accountant, Accounting Reporting and Analytics is responsible for preparing reporting and data analytics to provide strategic and actionable insights from historical financial data. Tasks include analyzing data to identify drivers, trends, and root causes; preparing manual and automated reports and dashboards; supporting report automation; and driving adoption of reporting tools and insights. The role partners with Accounting, FP&A, SEC Reporting, Finance Systems, Business Intelligence, and other teams. Responsibilities include preparing reports on accounting data, summarizing analyses, assisting in project implementation, responding to reporting requests, supporting ad hoc analyses, and preparing materials for monthly and quarterly reviews. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (MBA/CPA a plus), 3+ years of experience in corporate finance/accounting/data analytics/FP&A, knowledge of accounting and financial reporting systems, advanced Excel skills, experience with Oracle, Vertica, Tableau, and Incorta, strong communication and collaboration skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Base salary range is $77,600 to $142,200 USD.
What you'll do
- Prepare reports and dashboards on accounting related data including revenue, costs, accounting productivity, transaction velocity
- Analyze drivers, trends, root causes and provide or facilitate business insights
- Work with Business Intelligence and Finance Systems reporting teams to obtain data and support automated reports and dashboards
- Prepare summaries of data and analyses highlighting key findings, trends, and potential areas for follow-up
- Assist Director of Accounting Reporting and Analytics in implementing reporting and analysis projects
- Triage and respond to internal requests for accounting related reporting
- Support ad hoc reporting requests, projects, and analyses for accounting leadership and cross-functional partners
- Support monthly and quarterly review processes by preparing analyses, schedules, and reporting materials for accounting leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA is a plus
- 3+ years of experience in a combination of corporate finance (accounting/data analytics/FP&A)
- Knowledge of accounting systems, financial reporting systems, report building and data visualization tools
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles
- Proficient/Advanced Excel skills
- Experience or interest in working with IT experts to extract data from and into databases (Oracle, Vertica, etc.)
- Experience building and testing reports and dashboards in data visualization tools (Tableau & Incorta)
- Proven ability to execute reports and perform ad-hoc analyses
- Excellent communication skills to present findings clearly and concisely
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage deliverables and meet deadlines with multiple stakeholders
- High integrity and proactive approach to supporting the business
