Full job description

The Trade Desk seeks a senior programmatic advertising professional to manage and grow relationships with advertisers and agency clients in Japan. The role involves strategic advising, account growth, leading performance reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates must have at least 6 years of online advertising experience, 3+ years client-facing, strong Excel skills, and fluency in English and Japanese. Experience with RTB, DSPs, ad exchanges, and digital marketing campaigns is preferred.

What you'll do

  • Own and grow relationships with a portfolio of advertisers and/or agency clients in Japan
  • Act as a strategic advisor, translating client business goals into effective programmatic advertising strategies
  • Drive revenue growth through strategic account planning and up-selling
  • Lead regular performance reviews, QBRs, and strategic planning conversations with senior client stakeholders
  • Partner closely with Sales, Trading, Product, and regional/global teams to deliver best-in-class client outcomes
  • Provide feedback from clients and the local market to influence product and commercial strategy
  • Mentor or support more junior team members as a senior individual contributor

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of online advertising experience
  • 3+ years of client-facing experience
  • Sales background and experience is a strong plus
  • Expertise in RTB, DSPs, ad exchanges, aggregators, ad servers, and other optimization platforms is a plus
  • Experience managing programmatic advertising and digital marketing campaigns
  • Solid experience in Excel and MS Office, including pivot tables, chart-making, and manipulation of large data sets
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Proven track record of growing accounts by forging strong client relationships
  • Effective time management skills
  • Fluent in English and Japanese
