Full job description

Join Criteo's Application & Product Security team to secure products by partnering with Product and Platform teams. Responsibilities include advising on secure design, threat modelling, vulnerability management, remediating security risks, contributing to security tooling and incident response, defining security standards and KPIs, driving security-by-design and shift-left practices, leading technical projects, mentoring peers, and improving security processes. Candidates should have experience in Security Engineering or related roles, strong software development knowledge, leadership in complex projects, expertise in securing distributed and cloud-native systems, and a passion for scalable security solutions. The role is full-time, senior level, based in Paris with a hybrid work model. What you'll do

  • Partner with Product and Platform teams to design and build secure systems and services
  • Act as a trusted security advisor, guiding teams on secure design, threat modelling, and vulnerability management
  • Identify, assess, prioritise, and help remediate application security risks across the organisation
  • Contribute hands-on to security initiatives including architecture reviews, security tooling, automation, and incident response activities
  • Help define and evolve security standards, best practices, and KPIs to improve security posture
  • Drive adoption of security-by-design and shift-left security practices throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Lead complex technical projects and security initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders across multiple teams
  • Support security awareness efforts by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and promoting secure engineering practices
  • Collaborate with Security, Product, and Platform teams to improve security processes, tooling, and operational excellence

Requirements

  • Experience in Security Engineering or significant contribution to application or product security initiatives
  • Background in Product Engineering or SRE / Platform Engineering
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices
  • Experience leading complex technical projects and cross-functional initiatives in large-scale environments
  • Comfortable acting as a subject matter expert on security topics and advising teams on risks, trade-offs, and best practices
  • Experience securing distributed systems, cloud-native environments, and modern application architectures
  • Ability to combine hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and technical leadership
  • Ability to influence without authority, building trust and alignment across diverse stakeholders and teams
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and sound judgement when handling sensitive security topics
  • Passion for improving security through scalable solutions, automation, and collaboration
