Full job description

Data Scientist role in Brand Ads Quality team focused on building optimization solutions for YouTube advertiser budgets using operations research, game theory, statistics, and machine learning. Requires Master's degree in quantitative field and 3 years experience in analytics, coding (Python, R, SQL), online marketplace design, adtech, and causal inference. Preferred PhD or 5 years experience. Responsibilities include relevance aiming, creative recommendation, bidding optimization, impact measurement, project ownership, and collaboration with engineers and project managers. Full-time position based in Mountain View, CA. Salary range $147,000-$211,000 base plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you'll do

  • Build industry-leading optimization solutions for advertiser budget allocation on YouTube
  • Work on relevance aiming, creative recommendation, bidding optimization, and impact measurement
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the business ecosystem
  • Showcase project ownership from solution design to engineering implementation and data-driven analyses culminating in production launch
  • Partner with Software Engineers and Project Managers

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis
  • 3 years of work experience with online marketplace design, adtech, and causal inference
  • Preferred: PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Business Science
  • Preferred: 5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a PhD degree
