Refinery89 seeks a senior Publisher Sales Lead to manage and grow publisher sales in US and UK markets. Responsibilities include owning the full sales cycle, building a high-value pipeline, leading market expansion, advising publisher partners at executive levels, defining territory strategy, mentoring junior sales staff, maintaining CRM data, and representing the company at industry events. Candidates must have 5+ years in publisher or media sales within AdTech or programmatic ecosystems, proven success in closing high-value deals, strong communication skills, deep programmatic knowledge, and an established US/UK publisher network. Preferred experience includes AdTech companies, existing C-level relationships, familiarity with monetization technologies, and cross-functional collaboration. What you'll do

  • Own full sales cycle for US and UK publisher acquisition from prospecting to contract close
  • Build and maintain high-quality pipeline prioritizing highest-value, long-term partnerships
  • Lead market expansion efforts across US and UK coordinating with sales, product, and ad operations teams
  • Act as trusted senior advisor to publisher partners developing relationships at C-suite and VP level
  • Define and execute territory strategy including competitive positioning, pricing recommendations, and market intelligence
  • Mentor junior SDR and sales colleagues and serve as market knowledge resource
  • Maintain meticulous CRM hygiene logging all interactions and pipeline movements
  • Represent Refinery89 at key industry events, conferences, and networking forums across US and UK

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in publisher-facing or media sales roles, ideally within AdTech, SSP, ad network, or programmatic ecosystem
  • Demonstrated track record of closing complex, high-value deals and consistently exceeding quarterly revenue targets
  • Native or near-native English speaker with exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Deep understanding of programmatic advertising, header bidding, monetization stack architecture, and publisher economics
  • Established network of contacts within US and/or UK digital publishing
  • Self-directed and strategic with ability to build territory plan and operate autonomously
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, international scale-up environment
  • Prior experience at an AdTech company, SSP, Publisher Sales House, Trading Desk, or premium digital agency (preferred)
  • Existing C-level or VP-level relationships at major US/UK digital publishers or media groups (preferred)
  • Familiarity with monetization technologies such as Prebid, GAM, Amazon TAM (preferred)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and operational teams for publisher integrations (preferred)
  • History of building and scaling a sales territory from the ground up (preferred)
