Merkle, a dentsu company, is seeking a Product Owner / Principal Consultant for Digital Experience Platforms (DXP) and DAM+ to lead major digital transformation programs. The role involves driving digital platform strategies and roadmaps, leading product owners, translating business needs into user stories and specifications, facilitating workshops, advising C-level stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring consultants. Candidates must have professional fluency in English and German, deep expertise in DXP/DAM+, strong consulting and product ownership skills, extensive experience with platforms like Optimizely, Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, Magnolia, Acquia, Bynder, and Cloudinary, and strong facilitation and leadership skills. The position offers a competitive salary starting at EUR 80,000 gross annually, 25 vacation days, wellness and mental health benefits, flexible working hours with hybrid options, training and development opportunities, and a modern office in Vienna.

What you'll do

  • Drive digital platform strategies and roadmaps for large enterprise DXP / DAM+ ecosystems
  • Lead other Product Owners to define, create and prioritize business backlogs focusing on value creation
  • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to gather and refine requirements
  • Advise C-level stakeholders on digital opportunities, platform decisions, and process optimization
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Enterprise & Solution Architects, UX/design, and Content teams to ensure alignment and delivery excellence
  • Act as a business leader and subject matter expert in DXP and DAM+ during pitches and client engagements
  • Coach and mentor other consultants, build effective teams and contribute to internal capability building
  • Stay ahead of digital and DXP trends and bring relevant insights to clients

Requirements

  • Professional working fluency in English and German
  • Deep DXP / DAM+ expertise
  • Strong consulting and product ownership skills
  • Extensive experience leading large DXP / DAM+ projects across multiple platforms
  • Strong background in requirements engineering, including process modelling and functional specifications
  • Proven ability to manage and influence C-level stakeholders
  • Experience working across business and technical teams
  • Strong facilitation skills for workshops and co-creation sessions
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, coach and mentor other consultants
  • Deep understanding of Digital Experience Platforms, content, UX/design and modern digital ecosystems
  • Strategic, structured, and value-driven mindset with excellent communication skills
