Full job description

Merkle, a dentsu company, is hiring a mid-level Product Designer with 2-4 years experience to design complex wireframes, prototypes, and user journeys for digital products including web and e-commerce platforms. The role involves collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, and Research teams to create accessible, pixel-perfect implementations and optimize live products. Candidates must have strong Figma skills, a solid foundation in interaction and visual design, and knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design. The position is full-time, hybrid based in Lisbon, Portugal, with no work visa sponsorship. What you'll do

  • Design complex wireframes and flows resolving workflow, data visualization, validation, and states
  • Create realistic prototypes including task flows, edge cases, and errors
  • Align test plans with Research/Product teams
  • Lead concept generation activities and translate ideas into epics, features, and acceptance criteria
  • Contribute to product ideation backlogs using insight-led methods
  • Facilitate small ideation workshops
  • Partner with Product Management on product strategy artifacts such as value propositions, lifecycle views, OKRs/KPIs
  • Draft clear specifications and annotations
  • Partner with Engineering for pixel-perfect, accessible implementation
  • Identify optimization opportunities in live products and propose hypotheses and no-regret backlogs
  • Communicate design rationale to stakeholders and adapt storytelling for audience and context

Requirements

  • 2–4 years’ experience shipping digital products in cross-functional teams
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UX and UI work across web, e-commerce, and other digital platforms
  • Hands-on experience designing end-to-end user journeys and complex product experiences
  • Solid foundation in interaction and visual design, including typography, layout, colour, and human-centred design principles
  • Strong Figma skills, with experience in prototyping, usability testing, and design systems
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects, and applying product metrics, experimentation, and optimisation approaches
  • Nice to have: Hands-on experience designing native apps within end-to-end e-commerce journeys
  • Nice to have: Working knowledge of Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Android Material Design, accessibility, and inclusive design practices
  • Proactive in flagging risks/dependencies and aligning stakeholders
  • Committed to ethical, responsible design and AI/tool usage
