PubMatic seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead design and development of mobile app monetization systems. The role focuses on building scalable, low-latency, privacy-safe backend services for in-app advertising formats including rewarded video, interstitial, native, banner, app-open, playable, and video ads. Responsibilities include architecting backend services, optimizing SSP-DSP workflows, traffic shaping, QPS optimization, improving runtime ad format handling, enhancing buyer compatibility, supply quality diagnostics, privacy compliance, and collaborating cross-functionally. Requires 5+ years backend engineering experience in ad-tech/mobile advertising, strong knowledge of mobile ad signals, formats, performance advertising, attribution, privacy laws, and fraud prevention. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent required. Hybrid work schedule with 3 days in office.
