Full job description

Microsoft Commerce team is seeking a Principal Product Manager to define user and business needs, set strategy, and drive execution across engineering, design, and partner teams. Responsibilities include influencing business impact, translating goals into strategy and requirements, owning feature roadmaps, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Requires 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development (12+ preferred), leadership in AI-related product teams, expertise in data analytics, experimentation, and coding (SQL, Python, Javascript). Role is full-time, on-site in Redmond, WA, with salary range $139,900 - $274,800 per year (higher in SF Bay area and NYC).

What you'll do

  • Influence others to drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas across divisions
  • Identify long-term investment opportunities and engage partners to garner support for those feature areas
  • Translate business goals into strategy, user experience and technical requirements in collaboration with Applied Science, Data Science, Engineering, UX and Product Marketing/Sales teams
  • Define feature sets and facilitate senior-level usability reviews with customers
  • Own the roadmap for multiple feature areas across divisions and collaborate with partner teams to build golden configurations and drive scenario walkthroughs
  • Work in a fast-paced, customer-first, product development cycle
  • Partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for complex technical needs to improve product development
  • Identify features to deprecate, manage customer communities, and build trust with targeted customers across sectors

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience leading cross functional product teams across advertising, privacy, search, conversational AI, or generative AI
  • 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market
  • 5+ years experience with data analytics and experimentation tools with working knowledge of SQL and coding skills (Python, Javascript)
  • Depth in experimentation and measurement (A/B testing, causal inference, learning outcomes, cohort analysis)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements and deadlines
  • Proven ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment, fostering knowledge sharing and growth within the team
