Full job description

The Policy Director will lead the global rules for the advertising ecosystem, transforming the policy function into a proactive R&D domain. The role requires 10+ years in ad tech with expertise in OpenRTB, SSP/DSP, and marketplace economics. Responsibilities include developing standards for supply and demand, driving policy innovation with product and R&D, horizon scanning for regulatory risks, consulting sales on complex opportunities, representing the company with partners and industry bodies, and advising senior leadership on policy trade-offs. What you'll do

  • Develop dual-sided standards for Supply (Publishers) and Demand (Advertisers) to maximize liquidity and safety
  • Drive Policy Innovation by partnering with Product and R&D to embed policy requirements into the product lifecycle for automated scalability
  • Lead Horizon Scanning on emerging risks and opportunities including EU AI Act, AI-generated content, and deepfake technology
  • Serve as primary consultant for Sales and Business Development to navigate 'gray area' opportunities
  • Represent the company in discussions with Tier-1 partners (Apple, Microsoft, Yahoo) and industry bodies (IAB, TAG)
  • Translate complex policy landscapes into clear business trade-offs for senior leadership

Requirements

  • 10+ years in the advertising technology ecosystem
  • Deep fluency in technical infrastructure (OpenRTB, SSP/DSP dynamics) and marketplace economics
  • Proven ability to influence C-suite and VP-level stakeholders
  • Commercial acumen balancing advertiser success with network health and reputation
  • Analytical leadership with a bias toward automation
  • Ability to anticipate regulatory shifts and translate them into commercial opportunities
  • MBA, JD, or Master’s in Economics or Public Policy (preferred)
  • Experience in high-growth tech environments or Policy-as-Code implementation (preferred)
