Full job description

Verve is seeking a Platform Engineer (contract, remote) to join the dev ops team. Responsibilities include automating infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, managing Kubernetes clusters (EKS, GKE), maintaining Helm charts, ensuring platform scalability and reliability, setting up observability and monitoring (Grafana, New Relic, OpenTelemetry), providing operational support for revenue-generating applications, guiding development teams on infrastructure best practices and security, and participating in on-call rotation. Required skills include 2+ years relevant experience and willingness to collaborate with US-based teams during business hours. Tech stack includes Ruby/Rails, Elixir, Python, JavaScript (JQuery, AngularJS, Vue.js), AWS (EKS, ECS, RDS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticache, CodePipeline), and GCP (GKE, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Cloud Build). Hourly rate $30-$40.

What you'll do

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
  • Develop, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS, GKE)
  • Create and maintain Helm charts for applications and services
  • Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and availability (load balancing, auto-scaling, disaster recovery)
  • Set up and manage observability and monitoring solutions (Grafana, New Relic, OpenTelemetry)
  • Provide operational support for primary revenue-generating applications, participating proactively in incident resolution
  • Guide development teams on infrastructure best practices, security standards, and platform usage
  • Contribute to the team's on-call rotation
