Full job description

The Payroll Specialist will prepare and coordinate payroll processes for 700 employees across 13 countries, reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager. Responsibilities include gathering and verifying payroll data, collaborating with payroll providers, conducting preliminary payroll checks, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company policies, supporting employees with payroll questions, and contributing to process improvements and automation. Requirements include a degree in Human Resources and Payroll, significant payroll processing experience in a multi-country environment, knowledge of payroll regulations, proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll systems, fluency in English, strong organizational skills, and a proactive attitude.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and coordinate payroll processes ensuring smooth execution under supervision and validation of Payroll Manager
  • Gather, verify, and consolidate payroll inputs (new hires, terminations, bonuses, salary adjustments, etc.)
  • Collaborate with payroll providers to ensure timely submission of payroll data and assist in processing payroll across multiple countries
  • Conduct initial reviews of payroll calculations before submission to Payroll Manager for final validation
  • Ensure payroll processes align with local labor laws and company policies, escalating complex cases to Payroll Manager
  • Act as first point of contact for payroll-related questions, providing clear explanations to employees
  • Support initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and contribute to automation projects

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources and Payroll
  • Significant experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multi-country environment
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations in at least one of the covered countries
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with different payroll systems
  • Fluent in English, another language is a plus (French, German, or others)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Comfortable working independently while ensuring alignment with the Payroll Manager
  • Passion for CARE and working at the heart of a People function
  • Desire to evolve and develop expertise in an international, multicultural environment
  • Willingness to challenge existing processes for improvement
