StackAdapt is hiring a senior design-led technologist to join the Creatives Platform engineering team. The role focuses on designing and producing programmatic creative templates, especially motion-heavy formats like Video and DCO. Responsibilities include creating motion-forward template systems, building and maintaining interactive HTML5 templates, collaborating with engineering, product, and creative teams to identify and address creative library gaps, developing creative best practices, participating in customer discussions, ensuring quality and compliance of templates, and improving workflows with standards and tooling. Requirements include 5+ years of motion/visual design experience, strong digital advertising portfolio, intermediate+ motion and animation skills, proficiency in HTML5, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite (especially After Effects), and strong collaboration skills. Nice to have skills include mobile/video optimization, DOOH/native formats, DCO/feed-driven creative experience, video/audio editing, AI tool application, and familiarity with Figma and design systems. What you'll do
- Design and produce programmatic templates using client assets and/or original concepts, spanning static, animated, and interactive formats
- Create motion-forward template systems (animation patterns, transitions, reusable motion components) using tools like After Effects, Animate, or Google Web Designer
- Build and maintain interactive HTML5 templates that work across devices and platforms; troubleshoot layout and behavior issues using HTML5, CSS, and light JavaScript
- Partner with Engineering, Creative Studio, and Product teams to identify creative library gaps and translate them into scalable platform capabilities
- Develop ads creative best practices across channels and industries and apply vertical-specific creative strategies and patterns to inform template design
- Participate in select customer and customer success discussions to validate requirements and ensure templates solve real problems
- Own quality checks including visual polish, specs compliance, responsiveness, accessibility considerations, and functional testing
- Improve template workflows through standards (naming, structure, components), documentation, and experimentation with better tooling including AI-assisted workflows
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a motion/visual designer or equivalent portfolio-based experience
- Strong digital advertising craft across display, social, and web
- Intermediate+ motion/animation skills and strong visual design fundamentals (composition, typography, pacing, brand sensibility)
- Practical experience with HTML5 and CSS, including debugging/troubleshooting interactive creatives
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects
- Familiarity with Google Web Designer or Animate is a plus
- Strong collaboration skills to translate ambiguous needs into clear template requirements and work effectively with engineers
- Nice to have: experience optimizing creative assets for mobile/video environments
- Nice to have: familiarity with DOOH and/or native formats
- Nice to have: experience with DCO/feed-driven creative or template frameworks
- Nice to have: basic video/audio editing experience
- Nice to have: hands-on experience or strong interest in applying AI tools to improve creative production workflows
