Microsoft Frontier Industry Advisory seeks a senior Media & Entertainment Industry Advisor to serve as a trusted advisor to executive decision-makers in the US media sector. The role involves shaping AI and digital transformation strategies, leading early-stage opportunity development, and driving co-innovation with partners. Candidates must have 10+ years of relevant experience, strong industry knowledge, leadership skills, and expertise in AI, data platforms, and cloud transformation. Responsibilities include executive engagement, demand generation, account planning, partner ecosystem leadership, and field enablement. Salary ranges from $133,000 to $222,700 annually, with higher ranges in San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.

What you'll do

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level and business-unit executives across Media & Entertainment, shaping AI and digital transformation strategy
  • Lead executive conversations grounded in industry transformation principles
  • Engage stakeholders beyond IT using persona-based industry narratives
  • Represent Microsoft as an industry authority at executive briefings, industry events, and customer forums
  • Lead early-stage opportunity development through industry-led insights, use cases, and scenario-based selling
  • Originate and qualify high-value transformation opportunities prioritizing scalable Media & Entertainment use cases
  • Create demand across key verticals including content creation, streaming, audience engagement, advertising, and monetization
  • Generate opportunities through co-innovation, partner collaboration, and executive engagement
  • Act as the industry subject-matter expert within account teams aligning strategy to customer priorities and Microsoft’s industry point of view
  • Translate customer priorities into multi-year transformation roadmaps and qualified pipeline
  • Partner with account teams and specialists to shape opportunities and drive execution
  • Drive co-innovation with software vendors, systems integrators, and industry partners to design and scale solutions
  • Lead outbound partner engagements to create and accelerate opportunities aligned to customer needs
  • Identify ecosystem gaps and influence partner strategy to meet emerging industry needs
  • Champion AI-first transformation scenarios including AI-powered content creation, media supply-chain optimization, real-time personalization, and data-driven monetization
  • Help customers move from early experiments to enterprise-scale responsible AI adoption
  • Translate Media & Entertainment insight into actionable guidance for sales and technical teams
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to skilling and readiness across the organization
  • Share industry insight, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to influence product, marketing, and strategy teams

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Technology, Media/Communications, Engineering, or a related field AND 5+ years of customer-facing experience in the Media & Entertainment industry or industry-focused consulting, digital strategy, or transformation roles serving these sectors
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, Media/Communications, Engineering, or a related field AND 7+ years of customer-facing experience in the Media & Entertainment industry or industry-focused consulting, digital strategy, or transformation roles
  • OR equivalent experience
  • Experience and fluency with AI translation and deep awareness of the media ecosystem
  • Experience in the Media & Entertainment value chain from content creation to monetization
  • Experience establishing C-suite and business-unit relationships at strategic Media & Entertainment customers
  • Recognized industry thought leadership and strong personal brand in the Media & Entertainment market
  • Broad media value-chain fluency and AI translation skills across multiple sub-sectors
  • 12+ years of Media & Entertainment industry or industry-consulting experience with increasing scope and influence
  • Proven success driving complex, enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives
  • 5+ years of leadership or influence experience guiding cross-functional teams
  • Experienced in AI, data platforms, and cloud-based transformation with ability to translate into industry outcomes
  • Track record of partner-ecosystem development, cross-regional collaboration, and building strategic narratives
