Full job description

Manager, Infrastructure Engineering role in New York, NY with hybrid schedule (Mon/Fri remote, Tue/Wed/Thu in-office). Lead Infrastructure Engineering team responsible for global data center and cloud platforms, including inventory, configuration management, monitoring, automation, networking, and troubleshooting. Support high-volume advertising auction systems using Hadoop, Kafka, Kubernetes. Responsibilities include technical leadership, aligning department goals, resource planning, incident management, mentoring, team motivation, communication with stakeholders, driving automation, architectural reviews, and ensuring operational integrity. Requires 10+ years in Systems Engineering or SRE, strong Linux and scripting skills (Bash, Python, Go), experience with configuration management (Puppet, Chef), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git), container orchestration (Kubernetes), virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and knowledge of internet protocols. Experience in ad tech and global business preferred. Salary range $160,000 – $180,000 plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical leadership for Infrastructure Engineering team
  • Align department to business and strategic goals
  • Build and develop department to meet future organizational needs
  • Resource forecasting and planning for product release plans
  • Manage and govern incidents, problems, and changes including escalations and meeting SLAs
  • Conduct performance reviews and appraisals
  • Mentor engineering leaders
  • Inspire and motivate team around shared vision
  • Work closely with Tech Leads to develop and grow team members
  • Manage team execution, milestones, and timelines
  • Provide team/project status and metrics
  • Serve as central point of contact for key stakeholders
  • Foster relevant communication within teams
  • Liaise with Product/Product Owners and other stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance to Technical Operations and larger Engineering organization
  • Drive automation and standardization for rapid system deployment
  • Perform architectural review of business systems
  • Ensure operational integrity of global infrastructure
  • Build scalable systems for managing thousands of hosts and services
  • Build and operate multi-tenant data systems such as Hadoop, Kafka, Kubernetes
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years experience in Systems Engineering, SRE, or similar function
  • Strong understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts
  • Passion for automation
  • Motivated, self-starting individual
  • Strong desire and ability to educate others on building quality systems
  • Ability to use data to justify decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Comfortable collaborating and supporting a diverse team of engineers
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems in complex systems
  • Experience in ad tech industry preferred
  • Experience with a global business preferred
  • Understanding of digital advertising industry and programmatic market a plus
