Full job description

The Manager, Corporate Accounting is a senior accounting leader managing a small corporate accounting team in India. The role involves hands-on and strategic management, improving systems and workflows, and partnering with regional finance and tax teams. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley, managing 1-3 direct reports, coordinating financial close activities, reviewing journal entries, timely and accurate financial reporting, variance analysis, data analysis, reporting creation, driving special projects and process improvements, and maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA/CA preferred), 10+ years of finance/accounting experience with 3+ years management, strong knowledge of US GAAP, ERP experience (Netsuite preferred), analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and experience with publicly traded companies and TMT industry is a plus.

What you'll do

  • Ensure journal entries, balance sheet and account reconciliations comply with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Manage day-to-day operations, goal setting, performance evaluation, and advocacy of 1-3 direct reports
  • Coordinate team efforts around the close schedule and ensure financial data is properly captured, reconciled, documented and disclosed
  • Review and approve journal entries in various general ledger accounts
  • Ensure timely, accurate reporting of monthly results and quarterly reporting packages
  • Review variance analyses and prepare internal management reporting, analyses and presentations
  • Analyze historical data, expenses, KPIs, and foreign currency impacts and provide insights and recommendations
  • Create and maintain reporting to facilitate analytical and business requirements
  • Own and drive special projects such as automation, system implementations and process improvements
  • Establish and maintain strong business partnerships across Global Finance and cross-functional teams including FP&A, Tax, Procurement, Legal, and IT

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA/CA is preferable)
  • 10+ years of finance/accounting experience with 3+ years of management experience
  • Experience working on and good understanding of US GAAP
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated strengths in financial analysis and process improvement
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze ERP transactional detail
  • Ability to learn, understand, and articulate new complex accounting concepts quickly
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively in dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • ERP experience required (Netsuite a plus)
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement and special projects
  • Experience working at publicly traded companies a plus
  • Technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) industry experience a plus
