Full job description

The Legal Operations Manager at GumGum supports the legal operations function, reporting to the Associate General Counsel. Responsibilities include managing contracts lifecycle (MSAs, I/Os, SaaS agreements, NDAs), administering legal tools, leading CLM platform adoption, collaborating with internal teams (IT, HR, Finance), improving processes, delivering training, maintaining legal resources, managing corporate compliance across jurisdictions, responding to legal inquiries, and supporting complex negotiations. Requires 5+ years in-house legal experience in AdTech or digital media, strong contract negotiation skills, organizational ability, proficiency in MS Word, Google Suite, and CLM software, and foundational AI knowledge. The role offers a hybrid work environment with a preference for candidates within commuting distance of Santa Monica, CA. Salary range is $96,000 to $133,500 annually plus benefits including 401(k) match and potential bonuses.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end lifecycle of critical contracts including MSAs, I/Os, SaaS agreements, and NDAs
  • Act as primary administrator for legal tools and lead evolution of contract request platform
  • Spearhead selection and adoption of new CLM solution
  • Drive collaboration between Legal and internal teams (IT, HR, Finance)
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Develop and deliver training on legal review processes, contracting requirements, policy compliance, and CLM tool adoption
  • Oversee and update legal resource knowledge base, template repository, clause library, and approval matrices
  • Manage compliance and administration of corporate entities across multiple jurisdictions
  • Respond to legal or compliance inquiries and questionnaires from clients and partners
  • Partner with internal counsel to support complex contract negotiations and regulatory compliance
  • Handle ad hoc legal projects as the team grows

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience within an in-house legal team at an AdTech, advertising agency, or digital media company
  • Deep understanding of programmatic advertising and agency operations
  • Proven track record in contract management, drafting, and negotiating complex T&Cs, MSAs, and I/Os
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to develop, streamline, and improve legal-operational workflows
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple negotiations and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word (Track Changes), Google Suite, and modern CLM or legal ops software
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Comfortable managing shifting priorities
  • Proactive with foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including operational benefits and legal risks
