Full job description
Zeta Global seeks a Lead Data Engineer to build and scale healthcare-focused data systems supporting audience intelligence, activation, measurement, and reporting for HCP and DTC workflows. Responsibilities include designing healthcare data architecture, leading ingestion and transformation across Snowflake, Athena/S3, MySQL, and healthcare stores, partnering on data certification and SLAs, designing governed views with access controls, setting operational readiness criteria, leading code reviews and mentoring, supporting compliance and audits, applying privacy-by-design for PHI/PII systems, and collaborating with Product and Data teams to implement scalable architectures. Required skills include 8+ years in data engineering, expert SQL, strong Python and Java, experience with batch and streaming data, system design, and regulated environments (healthcare preferred). Technical expertise in distributed systems, microservices, Kafka, Spark, Flink, REST/gRPC APIs, Apache Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker, Kubernetes, and observability practices is essential. Define and maintain the healthcare data architecture, interface contracts, ADRs, schemas, and staged delivery plan

Requirements
8+ years of data engineering experience with increasing technical ownership
Expert SQL and strong Python, Java; experience with batch and streaming patterns, orchestration, testing, and schema evolution
Proven track record of building and scaling data-intensive or distributed systems
Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare strongly preferred)
Strong system design and architecture skills
Ability to lead technically while remaining hands-on in implementation
Strong collaboration skills across engineering, product, and data teams
