Full job description

Epsilon’s Decision Sciences IQ team seeks a Lead Research Scientist to integrate machine learning into PeopleCloud marketing SaaS products. Responsibilities include managing projects from research to development, designing scalable analytic pipelines, and collaborating with engineering teams. Requires a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline, 1+ years managing R&D projects, 2+ years programming experience, strong Python skills, and expertise in machine learning and large datasets. Preferred skills include distributed/cloud computing (Hadoop, Spark, AWS), SQL, and familiarity with LLMs and advanced analytics techniques. What you'll do

  • Manage projects end-to-end from early-stage research through development in consultation with stakeholders
  • Develop an understanding of DSIQ’s modeling platform and Epsilon’s proprietary datasets
  • Research and recommend best approaches to solving technology and business problems using data science and machine learning expertise
  • Design, implement, and validate productized analytic pipelines at scale using tools like Databricks, Spark, Python, Mllib, Keras, TensorFlow, Git, Jira, Confluence
  • Work with Engineering teams to integrate solutions into Epsilon’s PeopleCloud SaaS solutions
  • Participate in collaborative culture by sharing knowledge, debating techniques, and conducting research to advance team skills

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Linguistics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Operations Research, or related scientific discipline
  • Research experience and coursework in Machine Learning
  • 1+ years of experience managing research and development projects
  • 2+ years of relevant programming experience through academic research, internships, or industry experience
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience working with research or production code
  • Experience with large data sets
  • Strong understanding of modeling and statistical techniques
  • Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
