The Enterprise Architecture Lead is a senior technical leader responsible for owning the enterprise architecture layer across a top-tier client engagement within Merkle’s Digital Product Engineering practice. The role involves governing complex multi-platform delivery programs, ensuring architectural coherence, platform interoperability, and execution discipline. Key responsibilities include designing integrated solutions anchored in the Adobe ecosystem and adjacent platforms such as Salesforce, middleware, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms. The role leads uplift of critical digital properties using Adobe Experience Manager, designs scalable integration patterns, and brings operational rigor to delivery. The lead mentors multi-disciplinary teams, serves as a senior technical authority with client stakeholders, and incorporates emerging AI capabilities into the delivery roadmap. Qualifications include 15+ years of enterprise architecture experience, broad multi-platform fluency, AI literacy, proven delivery of large-scale engagements, strong delivery methodology expertise, and excellent communication skills. The position is full-time, hybrid remote with office presence expected for employees within commutable distance to hub offices including New York City. Salary range is $136,000 to $219,075 with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401k, paid time off, holidays, sick leave, and parental leave.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end technical architecture across the engagement ensuring alignment with approved roadmap and enterprise standards
- Design and govern integrated, enterprise-class solutions anchored in Adobe ecosystem and adjacent platforms
- Lead uplift of client’s critical digital properties using Adobe Experience Manager as foundational platform
- Design scalable integration patterns across platforms, APIs, data layers, and middleware
- Bring operational rigor and delivery methodology to keep large, multi-team programs on track
- Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary delivery teams ensuring technical alignment and quality standards
- Serve as senior technical authority with client stakeholders at VP and C-suite level
- Translate complex architectural decisions into business-relevant language
- Identify and incorporate emerging AI-powered capabilities into delivery roadmap as production-ready enhancements
- Collaborate with adjacent practices to compose solutions leveraging cross-practice expertise
- Protect and grow engagement by ensuring delivery stays on-roadmap and architecture remains sound
- Operate in tandem with DPE’s Technology Lead on agentic AI workstream to support revenue growth objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred (Adobe Certified Expert/Master, Salesforce certifications, TOGAF, AWS/GCP)
- 15+ years of hands-on enterprise architecture and solution delivery experience
- Experience in large-scale SI or digital product engineering environments
- Broad multi-platform fluency including Salesforce, middleware/integration platforms, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms
- Working understanding of agentic AI, LLM-powered services, and intelligent automation integration
- Proven track record delivering large, complex, multi-year, global SI or product engineering engagements ($10M+ scope)
- Experience designing and governing enterprise integration architectures (APIs, event-driven patterns, ETL/ELT pipelines, middleware orchestration)
- Ability to operate at the C-suite level with poise and credibility
- Strong delivery methodology experience (Agile at scale, waterfall-hybrid models)
- Product engineering mindset with roadmap ownership and technical debt framing
- Hands-on leadership style with ability to whiteboard architecture and present to CTO
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience working within or alongside digital agency, CXM, or product engineering environments is a plus
