Full job description

Lead Oracle DBA role requiring 8+ years experience in database implementation and administration. Responsibilities include full lifecycle support of Oracle databases using RAC and non-RAC for OLTP and warehouse, Active DataGuard for disaster recovery, Oracle Exadata patching and maintenance, backups, design, development, testing, and performance tuning. Collaborate with developers on database structures and promote changes through Dev, UAT, and Prod. Perform quarterly patching and upgrades with minimal downtime. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and after-hours support. Proactively automate repeated tasks. Required skills include strong knowledge of Oracle Exadata, RAC, DataGuard, backup and recovery tools (RMAN, EXPDP, IMPDP), database upgrade/migrations, performance tuning using AWR/ASH/ADDM/TKPROF/SQLT/10046 tracing, shell scripting, and AWS cloud database management. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Oracle certification is a plus.

What you'll do

  • Full life cycle support of client's databases
  • Manage database systems utilizing RAC and non-RAC for OLTP and warehouse
  • Manage Active DataGuard for disaster recovery
  • Perform Oracle Exadata patching and maintenance
  • Responsible for database backups, design, development, testing, and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with developers to design and build new database structures
  • Promote database changes through Dev, UAT and Prod environments
  • Apply quarterly patch applications (PSU) and periodic database upgrades with minimal downtime
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and provide after-hours support
  • Proactively automate repeated tasks

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience with implementation and administration of database systems
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience administering, managing and tuning high-transaction Standalone/RAC production server environments on premises and cloud
  • Strong design, development, administration skills
  • Strong knowledge of Automatic Storage Management
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex database performance issues
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Exadata
  • Strong knowledge of database upgrade/migrations
  • Strong knowledge of Backup and recovery tools (RMAN/EXPDP/IMPDP)
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle DataGuard Physical Standby configuration, build and support including DataGuard Broker and replication
  • Knowledge of database programming and query troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager
  • Experience managing databases in AWS cloud environment
  • Experience writing Shell scripts
  • Good written and oral communication and soft skills
  • Oracle certification is a plus
