Full job description

Responsible for planning, designing, and supporting new software and web applications. Analyze, test, and assist with integration of new applications. Oversee documentation of development activities and train junior engineers. Track performance metrics and ensure software delivery on time and within budget. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and provide technical leadership. Work with QA to test systems and serve as technical liaison for vendors and customers. Requires 10+ years experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements
  • Design new software and web applications
  • Support applications under development and customize current applications
  • Develop software update processes and assist in software release roll-outs
  • Train junior Software Development Engineers
  • Oversee researching, writing, and editing of documentation and technical requirements
  • Stay current with technological developments and competitive products
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance during design process
  • Track and evaluate performance metrics to ensure timely delivery within budget
  • Work with Quality Assurance to test and evaluate systems and components
  • Serve as technical contact and liaison for vendors and customers
  • Present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience planning and designing new software and web applications
  • Ability to analyze, test and assist with integration of new applications
  • Experience overseeing documentation of development activity
  • Ability to train non-technical personnel and junior engineers
  • Experience tracking performance metrics
  • Strong collaboration skills with project stakeholders
  • Technical leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, variable schedules and overtime as necessary
