Full job description
Lead Software Engineer role supporting Frisbee Rewards backend. Responsible for designing, building, and owning Rust-based backend microservices that control business logic, feature flags, and UX configuration for mobile clients. Define APIs and client-server contracts for iOS and Android apps. Collaborate with mobile engineers, Product, and Design teams. Provide architectural guidance and code reviews. Requirements include 6+ years backend experience, API design, microservices, cloud operations (AWS/GCP/Azure), familiarity with mobile architectures, gRPC, protobuf, GraphQL, relational databases, React Native exposure, and third-party SDK integration. Hybrid work schedule with in-office days in Redwood City, CA.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and own backend services (primarily Rust-based microservices) that power the Frisbee consumer experience
- Own backend systems responsible for business logic, feature flags, and UX configuration that control mobile behavior and layout
