Smadex is an ad-tech company processing over 4.5 million ad requests per second with sub-100ms response times. They seek a Junior Data Engineer passionate about data pipelines and performance challenges. The role involves building robust data pipelines, delivering high-quality features, and collaborating closely with the engineering team. Responsibilities include feature ownership for ML data features, writing clean and testable code, monitoring production system stability, and agile team collaboration. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 1-2 years of software or data engineering experience, SQL knowledge, Python or Java skills, interest in Big Data, ML, and data engineering, and excellent English communication. Bonus skills: Scala, key-value stores (Redis, Memcached), AWS, Airflow, Big Data, Spark. Tech stack includes Python, Scala, bash, Spark, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Jenkins, Docker, Airflow, Git, Jira, and Notion. The position is full-time, hybrid (2 days remote), located in Barcelona, Spain.
