Full job description

Internship role in Data Science Engineering at Magnite located in Broomfield, Colorado with a hybrid schedule (Monday and Friday remote, Tuesday to Thursday in-office). Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deliver data science solutions, contributing to scalable machine learning models and infrastructure, applying data-driven decision making, learning modern software development practices, participating in Agile processes, and writing high-quality code using Scala, Python, Spark, and other technologies. Requirements include pursuing or recently completed degree in Computer Science or related field, familiarity with programming languages (Java, Scala, Python, C++, Rust), exposure to statistics or machine learning, strong computer science fundamentals, and good communication and collaboration skills. What you'll do

  • Collaborate with teammates, data scientists, product managers, and engineering partners to design and deliver pragmatic data science solutions
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable machine learning models, infrastructure, and product offerings
  • Apply analytics thinking and a data-driven mindset to influence technical and product decisions
  • Learn and apply modern software development practices including AI-assisted development tools, testing frameworks, and collaborative workflows
  • Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, standups, code reviews, and technical discussions
  • Write and maintain high-quality code within the core technology stack including Scala, Python, Spark, MapR, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Jenkins, Docker

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to continuously learn new technologies and solve challenging problems
  • Strong interest in software engineering, problem-solving, and building scalable applications or automation systems
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, C++, Rust, or similar technologies
  • Exposure to statistics, machine learning, or backend data pipelines is a plus
  • Interest in emerging technologies such as AI-assisted development tools, machine learning, or large language models (LLMs)
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and learning mindset with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
