Full job description

Seeking an on-site HR Generalist in New York City to provide HR support across operations, recruitment, and employee relations. Responsibilities include managing onboarding/offboarding logistics, maintaining employee records with compliance to local laws, acting as first contact for employee inquiries, managing the NYC office environment and junior staff, coordinating employee engagement and recruitment events, supporting Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners, and assisting with global HR initiatives and executive support. Requires 5+ years HR experience, office management experience, staff management skills, strong HR knowledge, excellent communication, discretion, and ability to work on-site full-time.

What you'll do

  • Serve as primary on-site executor for onboarding and offboarding logistics including IT equipment tracking, desk setups, and orientations
  • Maintain accurate employee records ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws, especially New York State and City
  • Act as first point of contact for employee inquiries on policies, benefits, and local resources
  • Take full ownership of NYC office environment ensuring functionality and welcoming atmosphere
  • Manage, mentor, and direct Employee Experience Intern or part-time admin for catering, supplies, reception, and vendor management
  • Coordinate employee engagement events, executive visits, team offsites, and local marketing/recruiting events
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to facilitate on-site candidate experience and assist with local sourcing and screening for administrative and entry-level roles
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to provide localized insights into team morale, engagement, and employee relations
  • Assist in rolling out global HR initiatives, performance management cycles, and training programs locally
  • Provide ad-hoc scheduling and administrative support for senior leadership and executive meetings in NYC office

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar People Operations role
  • Experience in office management or facility logistics within an HR capacity
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or directing junior staff, interns, or administrative personnel
  • Strong understanding of foundational HR principles and localized employment compliance
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work on-site in New York City office 5 days a week
