Full job description

Appodeal is hiring an HR Business Partner to work closely with managers and teams, acting as a trusted advisor on team structure, performance, and people issues. Responsibilities include partnering with managers on team health, coaching managers, supporting performance conversations, serving as an informal contact for employees, identifying high-potential talent, contributing to learning and development, and monitoring team dynamics. Candidates should have solid HR Business Partner experience, strong communication skills, good judgment on support and difficult conversations, and comfort with ambiguity. The role reports to the Chief People Officer and is based in Barcelona, Spain with hybrid remote work possible.

What you'll do

  • Partner with managers on team structure, workload, hiring needs, and overall team health
  • Coach and support managers with direct, honest feedback
  • Help managers navigate performance conversations, ratings, and difficult calls
  • Act as a trusted informal point of contact for employees seeking perspective outside their manager
  • Identify high-potential employees and help build development paths, mentorship, and coaching
  • Contribute to learning and development approaches emphasizing learning through real work
  • Monitor team dynamics and processes, flagging issues before they escalate

Requirements

  • Solid experience as an HR Business Partner or in a similar embedded HR role
  • Comfortable operating close to the business, not just close to the HR process
  • Strong communicator who builds trust quickly at every level, including with senior people
  • Good instincts for when support or harder conversations/decisions are needed
  • Belief that high standards and genuinely caring about people are compatible
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and lack of a fixed playbook for the role
