Full job description

Head of Legal Affairs, EMEA role based in London with a hybrid schedule (Monday and Friday remote, Tuesday to Thursday in-office). Responsibilities include leading contract negotiations with strategic partners and vendors, drafting and advising on technology and commercial agreements, providing legal support across the business including privacy, data, and security initiatives, improving contracting processes for EMEA markets, and handling other legal matters such as employment, real estate, marketing, and regulatory issues. Requires 5-8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with technology, digital advertising, data/privacy, or intellectual property background. Must be a qualified UK lawyer with strong business judgment, multitasking ability, leadership skills, and work ethic. What you'll do

  • Lead and support contract negotiations with strategic partners on complex commercial and technology matters
  • Lead and support contract negotiations with vendors
  • Structure, draft, negotiate, and advise on technology and commercial agreements including advertising technology solutions, platform vendor and data agreements, online terms of service, and other technology agreements
  • Provide legal support to internal clients across the business, proactively identify issues and share potential concerns and solutions to support commercialization of products and services
  • Provide legal support for privacy, data, and security initiatives related to technology and commercial agreements
  • Improve contracting processes and management, including localizing agreement forms for EMEA markets
  • Review, draft and negotiate vendor agreements for EMEA markets
  • Assist with other legal responsibilities in EMEA including employment, real estate, marketing, and regulatory matters
  • Handle ad-hoc legal projects as requested by senior legal team members

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–8 years of practice in a top law firm and/or in-house legal department with relevant transactional experience
  • Prior technology experience is a plus
  • Experience in digital advertising, data/privacy, and intellectual property is useful
  • Excellent business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while thinking strategically and providing practical advice under tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to multitask and set priorities
  • Strong work ethic
  • Natural leadership qualities, comfortable making decisions and interacting with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Qualified UK lawyer
