Full job description

Amazon Advertising seeks an experienced manager to lead and develop the Ad Tech Sales organization in Japan. The role involves building and leading a sales team focused on strategic partnerships and adoption of Amazon's advertising technology solutions, including Amazon DSP, APIs, and cloud-based marketing analytics. Responsibilities include developing go-to-market strategies, establishing C-level relationships, collaborating with AWS and product teams, managing business plans and KPIs, and driving operational excellence. Requirements include 12+ years of B2B sales experience, 8+ years managing teams, knowledge of digital media and programmatic advertising, proven ability to build C-level relationships, business-level English and Japanese communication skills, and a bachelor's degree.

What you'll do

  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of Ad Tech Sales professionals in Japan
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and processes to achieve team revenue targets
  • Create and maintain a high-performance culture focused on customer obsession
  • Coach team members to develop their skills and advance their careers
  • Establish clear performance metrics and provide regular feedback
  • Define and execute the regional Ad Tech sales strategy aligned with global objectives
  • Develop and maintain C-level relationships with key agencies and advertisers
  • Drive strategic partnership opportunities that accelerate market adoption
  • Lead complex contract negotiations and strategic deal structures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AWS, Product, and Solutions Architecture
  • Create and manage annual business plans and revenue forecasts
  • Establish team KPIs and track progress against objectives
  • Identify market opportunities and develop expansion strategies
  • Partner with regional and global leadership to align on priorities and resources
  • Drive operational excellence and process improvements

Requirements

  • 12+ years of B2B sales experience
  • Knowledge of digital media (DSPs, programmatic media, premium digital video, performance advertising)
  • 8+ years of experience managing teams of 5+ people
  • Track record of successfully hiring and retaining sales talent
  • Proven ability to establish and nurture C-level relationships
  • Business level written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Verbal business communication skills in Japanese
  • Bachelor's degree
